High Point Wins 2025 Big South Men's Indoor Track & Field Championship
COLUMBIA, S.C. -- High Point maintained its first day lead to win the 2025 Big South Men's Indoor Track & Field Championship on Saturday. The Panthers finished the meet with 238 points to claim their fourth Big South Men's Indoor Track & Field title and third consecutive crown. Charleston Southern was second in the final standings with 128 points, followed by USC Upstate in third with 79.5 points.
FINAL RESULTS
High Point had seven total conference champions on the day -- including four that established Championship Meet records --
Cole Wilson won the heptathlon with a Meet record 5,705 points, the Panthers'
4x400m relay won in a record time of 3:11.14,
Camerin Williams won the 800m race in a record time of 1:49.49, and
Alex Constantinou was victorious in the high jump with a record height of 2.18m. Charleston Southern had two champions Saturday
(Luciana Custodio - 400m and
Micah Gilpatric - 3,000m), while UNC Asheville's
Shemarr Session won the 200m in a Championship Meet record time of 20.82. Gardner-Webb's
Quentin Peterson earned gold in the weight throw, while Winthrop's
Maurion Jamison won the triple jump.
Session
was named the Men's Indoor Freshman of the Year, while High Point's Wilson earned the Most Outstanding Performance of the Meet for having the highest nationally-ranked mark or time that was established during the Championship. CSU's
Micah Gilpatric received the Most Valuable Athlete Award for accumulating the most inidividual points among the competitors. The Panthers'
Keshon Sapp was recognized as the Newcomer of the Year, and
High Point was voted the Coaching Staff of the Year. Charleston Southern's
Michael Calhoun was voted Scholar-Athlete of the Year by the league's Sports Information Directors. Below are the final standings, and the full list of the top award winners.
