High Point Wins 2025 Big South Women's Indoor Track & Field Championship
COLUMBIA, S.C. -- High Point extended its first day lead to win the 2025 Big South Women's Indoor Track & Field Championship on Saturday. The Panthers finished the meet with 256 points to claim their fourth Big South Women's Indoor Track & Field title and third consecutive trophy. Charleston Southern was second in the final standings with 167 points, followed by Gardner-Webb in third with 76 points.
FINAL RESULTS
High Point's
Sydney Horn became the Big South's first four-time conference champion in the pole vault with her winning clearance of 4.45m. She was one of six different Panthers to capture gold on the day. Joining her on the top podium were
Brianna Malone (800m, mile),
Quiana Williams (60m),
Lindsay Cooper (60m Hurdles),
Dae'Nitra Hester (200m) and
Alyssa Hendrix (3,000m). Charleston Southern's
4x400m relay team won the event in a Championship Meet record time of 3:42.42 -- just ahead of the previous record of 3:42.64. The remaining champions were Radford's
Jeylah Hamrick in the 400m, Gardner-Webb's
Teandra Clemons in the triple jump, and USC Upstate's
Rachel Davis in the weight throw.
Horn earned the Most Outstanding Performance of the Meet for having the highest nationally-ranked mark or time that was established during the Championship. High Point's
Ashari Pearson was named the Women's Indoor Freshman of the Year, while Charleston Southern's
Chloe Greene was selected the Most Valuable Athlete for accumulating the most individual points among the competitors. High Point's Hendrix was named Newcomer of the Year, and
High Point was honored as the Coaching Staff of the Year. Malone was voted Scholar-Athlete of the Year by the league's Sports Information Directors. Below are the final standings, and the full list of the top award winners.
