Big South Announces Men's Tennis Players of the Week - March 26

Mauricio Gonzalez Paiva (Corrientes, Argentina) has been named the Big South Men's Tennis Player of the Week, while teammate
Marko Mrdak (Perth, Australia) is the Men's Freshman of the Week for matches played March 17-23, it was announced today.
Gonzalez Paiva went 2-0 in both singles and 2-0 doubles, helping Longwood to a perfect week with wins at George Mason, 4-0, and at home against Howard, 4-1. He beat George Mason’s No. 3 Jacco Arends, 6-2, 6-1 on Friday after teaming with Timéo Puech at No. 1 doubles to beat Arends and Zavan Fahim, 6-3. Against Howard, he again paired with Puech to top Michael Major and Marcel Dawson, 7-6 (5) and then defeated Dawson, 6-4, 6-1, in No. 3 singles.
Mrdak went 1-0 in singles and 2-0 doubles, also contributing to Longwood's perfect week. He teamed up with Alejandro Uribe at No. 3 and defeated Mason’s Dustin Ha and Ekansh Kumar, 6-4, and Mitchell Yon of Hassimiyou Dieng of Howard, 7-5. He also topped Diego at No. 4 singles in a straight-set victory
