Big South Announces Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week - March 26

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – The Big South Conference announced today its Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week for competitions this past weekend of March 20-23.
 
UNC Asheville’s DaMarr Harvey (Greenville, N.C.) was voted Men’s Track Athlete of the Week, High Point’s Justin Sluijter (Arkel, Netherlands) is the Men’s Field Athlete of the Week honoree, while the Panthers’ Tim Brown (Davidson, N.C.) was selected the Men’s Freshman of the Week.
 
Harvey won the 200m race at the Charlotte 49er Classic with a time of 20.88, just 1.7 seconds off his own school record.  He was also second in the 100m dash (10.58), and was part of the Bulldogs’ 4x400m relay that finished third at 3:17.01.
 
Sluijter won the long jump at the Bob Davidson Team Challenge with a leap of 7.55m.  He also finished third in the javelin (59.37m) and was part of the 4x400m relay squad that was third with a time of 3:19.47.
 
Brown broke the High Point 400m record with a time of 46.84 to win the event and establish the top 400m performance in the league this season.
