Big South Announces Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week - April 17

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – The Big South Conference announced today its Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week for competitions this past weekend of April 10-13.
 
Gardner-Webb’s Anna Spencer (Cairo, Ga.) was selected the Women’s Track Athlete of the Week, while USC Upstate’s Rachel Davis earned Women’s Field Athlete of the Week honors.  Radford’s Jeylah Hamrick (Williamsburg, Va.) is the Women’s Freshman of the Week.  
 
Spencer ran a personal-best 11.82 seconds in the 100m dash at the South Florida Invitational.  She also posted a time of 24.16 seconds in the 200m.  Her 100m performance is second-fastest in the Big South this spring.
 
Davis recorded three podium finishes at the Asheville Bulldog Invitational.  She won the shot put with a distance of 13.66m, and was runner-up in the hammer (52.38m) and discus (40.25m).  Davis also recorded a PR in the javelin with a distance of 25.62m
 
Hamrick won the 200m dash at the JMU Invitational with a PR time of 24.35 seconds.  That effort ranks fifth in the conference this season.
