Charleston Southern swept a doubleheader with Longwood on Friday, while Radford and USC Upstate picked up series opening wins as well.

The Charleston Southern softball team celebrated more than just a doubleheader sweep on Friday, as Head Coach Christi Musser notched her 100th-career win with the program in the team's 6-4 win over the Longwood Lancers.
RADFORD 7, WINTHROP 0 | BOX SCORE
The Radford softball program used a big fourth inning in the series opener Friday afternoon to take down Winthrop, 7-0. Dakota Redmon was dominant once again for the Highlanders with a seven-inning shutout, her second of the season. Grace Bechtol led the offense with three hits in three trips to the plate also totaling 2 RBIs. Klara Van Beuge also had a big day in the DP spot with two hits and two RBIs.
USC UPSTATE 12, GARDNER-WEBB 0 | BOX SCORE
Opening the weekend series in conference play, USC Upstate Softball took the field for game one against Gardner-Webb where the Spartans shut out the Runnin' Bulldogs with a 12-0 victory. Opening the bottom of the first inning, Upstate kept the Runnin' Bulldogs grounded with zero hits and Sierra Maness striking out the final batter. The action picked up with Carson Shaw opening the top of the second inning with an infield single. With Kailey Canupp in as the pinch runner, Alanna Deal's double to left center drove in the first run.
