Furman, Mercer and High Point maintained their respective undefeated starts to conference play on Wednesday, as the Paladins and Bears improved to 2-0, with the Panthers moving to 3-0.
FURMAN 20, WOFFORD 18 | BOX SCORE
Lily Toole broke Furman's single-game points record Wednesday evening to lead the Paladins to a 20-18 victory over the Wofford Terriers in Big South Conference women's lacrosse action at Gibbs Stadium. Furman improves to 8-2 overall and remains unbeaten in the Big South at 2-0. With the loss, Wofford drops to 3-8 on the season and 0-2 in conference play. Toole, a freshman from Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., surpassed Meagan Beal's old school record of 11, which was achieved at Wofford on April 26, 2023.
MERCER 17, GARDNER-WEBB 4 | BOX SCORE
A dominant first half from Mercer saw the Bears lead 10-0 at the break on the way to a dominant 17-4 win over Gardner-Webb, Wednesday evening from Boiling Springs. Gabby Brisbin and Caroline Glus led the Mercer attack with four goals each and the Mercer defense held Gardner-Webb to just nine shots total as the Bears improved to 2-0 in conference play.
HIGH POINT 21, LONGWOOD 6 | BOX SCORE
Looking to extend a five-game win streak, the High Point University women's lacrosse team took a trip to Virginia to square off with the Longwood Lancers on Wednesday night. The Panthers extended that streak as they defeated the Lancers, 21-6. The Panthers were led by Bella Germani, who scored a career-high five goals. Esprit Cha finished the game with four goals and an assist. Allie Connally had another great game with seven points (three goals and four assists). She also recorded eight more draw controls. In all, High Point had 11 different scorers as Germani, Cha and Connally paved the way with first-half hat tricks.
