Big South Announces Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week - April 22

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com– Furman senior midfielder Paige Harman (Fairport, N.Y.) has been named the Big South Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, while teammate and junior goalkeeper Madigan Brewer (Davidson, Md.) is the Defensive Player of the Week for games played April 14-20, it was announced today. In addition, Furman attacker Lily Toole (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.) has been named the Freshman of the Week.
 
Harman led Furman to a 2-0 week with 21 points on nine goals and 12 assists, while also collecting 18 draw controls and causing one turnover. She set career highs with 11 points, 11 draw controls, and seven assists in a 22-11 home win over Presbyterian, tying the program record for assists in a game and finishing just one point shy of the single-game points record. Harman followed that performance with five goals and five assists in a 21-4 win at Radford, matching her career high for goals and adding seven draw controls.
 
Brewer posted a 2-0 record in goal to help Furman to conference wins over Presbyterian and Radford. She totaled 11 saves while allowing just eight goals across 90 minutes of action, finishing the week with a 5.30 goals against average and a .579 save percentage. Brewer recorded her second double-digit save performance of the season with 10 stops against Radford, surrendering just one goal in the second half as the Paladins held the Highlanders scoreless for a stretch of 28 minutes. She started the week with one save and one ground ball against PC, giving up just four goals in one half of play. 
 
Toole totaled 10 points on seven goals and three assists to help lead Furman to a 2-0 week. She opened with an eight-point performance against Presbyterian, scoring seven goals and adding one assist, along with two ground balls and a caused turnover in a 22-11 win. Toole followed with two assists and a ground ball in the Paladins’ 21-4 victory at Radford.
