High Point Clinches Share of Women's Lacrosse Regular-Season Championship

High Point's win over Radford in the regular-season finale, coupled with Furman's overtime win over Mercer, clinched a share of the regular-sason title for the Panthers on Wednesday.  Winthrop also won on Wednesday to remain in contention for berth in next week's conference tournament.

HIGH POINT 25, RADFORD 7 | BOX SCORE
The High Point University women's lacrosse team wrapped up the regular season in dominate fashion, defeating Big South Conference opponent Radford on Wednesday afternoon, 25-7. With the win and Furman's win over Mercer, the Panthers have clinched a share of the Big South Regular-Season Championship for their seventh and 13th total title.  High Point had seven players with two or more goals as Allie Connally led the way with five goals and a career-high 11 draw controls. Shannon Smith, Bella Germani and Esprit Cha all scored four goals each, while Mandy Brockamp netted a hat trick and Reese Dowgiallo had a team-high five assists. Lily Trout and Kierstin Hillis contributed two goals apiece.

FURMAN 18, MERCER 17 (OT) | BOX SCORE
Lily Toole's goal with 1:21 remaining in overtime lifted the Furman women's lacrosse team to an 18-17 Big South Conference victory over league-leading Mercer on Wednesday afternoon at Five Star Stadium.  Furman wins its fourth straight contest and ties the school record for wins in a season. The Paladins improve to 12-3 overall and 6-1 in the Big South. With the loss, Mercer drops to 9-7 on the season and 6-1 in conference play. Furman hands the Bears their first Big South loss since April 23, 2022 and creates a three-way tie atop the league standings with High Point. Mercer entered today's contest having won 24 straight regular season games against conference opponents.

WINTHROP 22, LONGWOOD 9 | BOX SCORE
Winthrop dominated the second half in the home finale with Longwood Wednesday afternoon.  The game started 2-2 at the 4:14 mark of the first quarter.  Winthrop answered with five of the next seven goals to take a 7-4 lead with 8:57 remaining in the half.
