Gardner-Webb to Face Top-Ranked Wake Forest in NCAA Men's Tennis Championship

BOILING  SPRINGS, N.C. – The Gardner-Webb University men's tennis team learned its fate in the 2025 NCAA Men's Tennis Championship after the selection show on Monday, April 28.

The Runnin' Bulldogs captured the Big South Tournament Championship with a 4-0 win over UNC Asheville last Friday, and in doing so, has earned a date against top-ranked Wake Forest in the opening round on Friday, May 2 with a first serve coming at 5 p.m.

Gardner-Webb finished the regular season at 20-4 overall with one of those defeats coming at the hands of the Demon Deacons, a 5-2 setback earlier in the season.

Graduate Eduardo Dias, the reigning Big South Player of the Year, will look to guide GWU to its first ever win in the NCAA Tournament. The winner of Friday's match will move on to play the victor of Kentucky and Old Dominion.
