Big South Announces Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week - April 30

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – The Big South Conference announced today its Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week for competitions this past weekend of April 24-27.
 
Charleston Southern’s Austyn Koppe (Matthews, N.C.) was selected the Women’s Track Athlete of the Week, while USC Upstate teammates Jessa Beach and Rachel Davis shared Women’s Field Athlete of the Week honors.  CSU’s Nourhan Hassan (New Madi, Egypt) is the Women’s Freshman of the Week.  
 
Koppe took sixth overall in the 100m Hurdles at the Charlotte Invitational with a PR time of 13.46 -- the seventh-fastest performance in Big South history.
 
Beach finished third in the hammer throw at the Charlotte Invitational with a distance of 58.28m -- tops in the conference this season.  She also set a personal-best in the discus with a throw of 43.60m.
 
Davis won the shot put at the Charlotte Invitational with a PR effort of 14.96m.  She also had a PR in the hammer (54.71m -- No. 2 in the league this year) and finished with a 35.56m distance in the discus.
 
Hassan ran a season-best time of 11.95 in the 100m dash at the Charlotte Invitational.  She finished 10th overall in the event, and her time ranks fourth in the Big South this spring.
