ASHEVILLE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – Four-time defending champion High Point remains in first-place in the 2025 Big South Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Championships with 59 team points following the second day of competition at the Karl Straus Track on the campus of UNC Asheville.  Gardner-Webb holds second-place with 46 points through six scored events, with Charleston Southern in third-place with 32 points.

Four individual champions were crowned on Tuesday, as a 2-hour lightning delay in the afternoon postponed the women’s pole vault to Wednesday at 10:45am.  Charleston Southern’s Maeva Tahou won the Bucs’ first women’s gold of the Championship with her first-place finish in the triple jump (12.09m) -- CSU’s first-ever champion in the event.  Gardner-Webb’s Isa van Sintemaatensdijk captured the heptathlon with a score of 4,621 points to become the program’s first-ever Big South Heptathlon Champion.

In the shot put, USC Upstate’s Rachel Davis earned her second gold medal of the Meet as she won with a distance of 14.88m -- becoming the first Big South champion in both the shot put and hammer throw at the same Conference Championship since 2008.  UNC Asheville’s Aneta Kucerova concluded the evening with a victory in the 3,000m Steeplechase (11:00.42), the Bulldogs’ first Steeple champion since 2013.

The Big South Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Championships conclude Wednesday, May 14, from the Karl Straus Track, with coverage on ESPN+ beginning at 3:30pm.  High Point will attempt to become just the second Big South member to win five consecutive titles.
