LONGWOOD 7, USC UPSTATE 6 | BOX SCORE
Longwood won a thriller 7-6 over USC Upstate to open a three-game series on Friday night at Harley Park.  Myles Webb crushed a career-best two home runs for a career-high five RBI, and James Nelson added a homer of his own. The duo combined to drive in all seven runs for the Lancers (11-35, 5-14 Big South) to upend the Big South-leading Spartans (24-22, 11-5 Big South).  Guillermo Garcia, Jr. outdueled Amp Phillips on the mound, limiting a high-octane USC Upstate offense in five innings of work, and Ried Dittner battled through the final four innings with a career-high seven strikeouts to preserve the win.
