Big South To Send 24 to NCAA Outdoor Track & Field East First Round
The Big South Conference will be represented by 24 student-athletes at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field East First Round meet in Jacksonville, Florida. The meet will be held May 28-31 at the University of North Florida's Jax Track at Hodges Stadium. The East First Round features the top 48 student-athletes in the eastern region in each event, with the top 12 finishers qualifying for the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Eugene, Ore., which will be held June 11-14 in Eugene, Oregon.
Big South Decathlon Champion
Cole Wilson of High Point made the top 24 list in the event and will go straight to the NCAA Championships. He becomes one of six athletes during the 2024-25 season to compete at both the Indoor and Outdoor Championships and becomes the first athlete to represent HPU in the decathlon. Wilson secured his spot at the NCAA Championships after recording a program- and Big South Championship Meet record 7,609 points at the Big South Outdoor Championships on May 13, 2025
