While Mother Nature appeared to have the upper hand, forcing multiple stoppages throughout the day, she couldn't put a damper on USC Upstate baseball's offense as the Spartans evened their series with Longwood behind a 20-plus-run outburst at Cleveland S. Harley Park Saturday. Upstate's third 20-plus run game of the season led to a 22-11 win over the Lancers.
HIGH POINT 10, PRESBYTERIAN 4 | BOX SCORE
The High Point University baseball team defeated the Presbyterian Blue Hose, 10-4, in game one of the weekend series. Wade Walton earned the win in game one over the Blue Hose as he shoved six innings, allowing just two runs on eight hits, and striking out six batters. Walton improved his record to 7-3 amid his rookie campaign. The teams will play a doubleheader on Sunday beginning at 12:00pm.
