Big South Announces Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week - May 9

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – The Big South Conference announced today its Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week for competitions during April 28-May 6.
 
High Point’s Dae’Nitra Hester (Miami, Fla.) was selected the Women’s Track Athlete of the Week, while teammate Sydney Horn (Lancaster, Pa.) earned Women’s Field Athlete of the Week accolades.  HPU’s Quiana Williams (Greensboro, N.C.) and Radford’s Sienna Bailey (Collinsville, Va.) shared the Women’s Freshman of the Week honor.  
 
Hester finished fifth in the 400m dash at the Duke Twilight with a time of 54.12.  She also ran the 200m in a time of 24.17.
 
Horn broke her own Big South and school record in the pole vault with a clearance of 4.46m at the Liberty Twilight on Tuesday evening.  She finished first for her second consecutive victory in the event.
 
Williams posted a time of 11.58 in the 100m dash at the Duke Twilight.  She also clocked a time of 24.29 in the 200m.
 
Bailey finished second in the 5,000m run at The Hill City Twilight with a PR time of 16:50.64 -- the fifth-best mark in the Big South this season, as well as second all-time in program history.
