Big South Announces Men's Golfers of the Week - Sept. 11

Kieran McCarthy (Wigan, England) has been named the Big South Men’s Golfer of the Week, while Gardner-Webb’s
Jude Carper (Cornelius, N.C.) is the Men’s Freshman of the Week honoree for events played Sept. 4-10, it was announced today.
McCarthy tied for runner-up at the 94-player Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational (par 71, 6,523 yards) with an 8-under par 205, as he carded under-par rounds of 69 (-2), 68 (-3) and 68 (-3) in his first outing of the season. He tallied four birdies in each round (12 total), and was 5-under on the par-4 holes.
In his first collegiate tournament, Carper tied for the team lead with a 4-over 220 (74-73-73) at the Bryan National Collegiate (par 72, 7,255 yards) to tie for 20th in the 86-player field. He finished the event with 11 birdies, and helped the Runnin’ Bulldogs finish sixth out of 14 teams.
