Big South Announces Women's Golfers of the Week - Sept. 11

Anna Howerton (Winston-Salem, N.C.) has been named the Big South Women’s Golfer of the Week, while teammate
Makayla Grubb (Stafford, Va.) is the Women’s Freshman of the Week honoree for events played Sept. 4-10, it was announced today.
Howerton tied for fourth at the Golfweek Fall Challenge (par 71, 6,075 yards) with a 2-under par 211 (71-72-68). She had a team-tying 11 birdies -- tied for fourth-most in the tournament, and helped the Panthers to a runner-up finish in the 20-team event.
In her collegiate debut, Grubb tied for 13th at the Golfweek Fall Challenge with a 1-over par 214 (76-71-67). She improved each round, including a 4-under par 67 in the final round that tied for third-lowest of the day, and jumped her 22 spots on the leaderboard. Grubb tied for the team lead with 11 birdies, and finished -4 on the par-5 layouts.
