Big South Announces Women's Soccer Players of the Week - Sept. 15

Jenéa Knight (Ottawa, Ontario) has been named the Big South Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, while Longwood defender
Sydney Robertson (Newport News, Va.) is the Defensive Player of the Week for matches played Sept. 8-14, it was announced today. In addition, Charleston Southern midfielder
Hailey Swenson (Newnan, Ga.) has been selected as the Freshman of the Week.
Knight scored two goals in a 13-minute span of the second half to lead Charleston Southern to a 4-2 victory over The Citadel on Thursday. The redshirt senior scored unassisted in the 61st minute to give the Buccaneers a 2-1 lead and later added the game-winner in the 74th minute to help secure CSU’s first win of the season. Knight converted both of her shots in 73 minutes of action.
Robertson matched up against Richmond’s leading scorer and held her without a point in Longwood’s draw with the Spiders. The senior anchored a Lancer defense that did not allow a shot in the first half and kept Richmond scoreless through the first 87 minutes Thursday in Farmville. Robertson played the full 90 minutes.
Swenson recorded a goal and an assist in Charleston Southern’s 4-2 win over crosstown rival The Citadel. The freshman netted her first career goal just before halftime to tie the match, then added her first career assist on Knight’s game-winner in the 74th minute. Swenson’s goal came on her only shot as she played all 90 minutes.
