Big South Announces Volleyball Players of the Week - Sept. 22

Nalani McBride (Stafford, Va.) was voted the Libero of the Week, and Upstate middle blocker
Kensley Haneline (Shelby, N.C.) earned Big South Freshman of the Week honors.
O’Grady totaled 47 kills, 4.27 kills per set, a .415 hitting percentage, nine total blocks, five service aces, 58.0 points and 5.27 points per set in 11 sets played last week. She opened her week with a .367 hitting clip with 13 kills, three blocks and two aces against Northern Arizona. O’Grady then posted 11 kills and a .280 percentage at South Carolina, and wrapped with career highs of 23 kills and 27.0 points, in addition to a .538 percentage and five blocks, in a victory over The Citadel.
Vega David recorded 121 assists, 25 digs and 10.0 blocks, along with three service aces in 11 sets last week, for averages of 11.00 assists and 2.27 digs. She first tallied 46 assists, five digs and five blocks vs. Northern Arizona, then had 24 assists and seven digs at South Carolina. Vega David concluded her weekend with 51 assists, three aces, 13 digs and four blocks in Upstate’s four-set win over The Citadel.
McBride earned All-Tournament honors at the Wofford Invitational after compiling 94 digs in 14 sets (6.71 digs per set). She started with 20 digs against both Wofford and Northern Arizona, then recorded 25 digs in a 3-1 triumph over The Citadel, and concluded with 29 digs vs. Marshall. McBride also handed out 14 assists across the four matches.
Haneline turned in 38 kills, 3.45 kills per set, 42.5 points, 3.86 points per set and nine total blocks while hitting .360 across three appearances. She began her week with 13 kills and five blocks vs. Northern Arizona, and followed with seven kills at South Carolina. Haneline finished the weekend with a career-best .593 hitting percentage against The Citadel, as she had 18 kills along with two blocks in the win.
