Big South Announces Men's Golfers of the Week - Sept. 25

Gabriel Mainella (Richmond Hill, Ontario) has been named the Big South Men’s Golfer of the Week, while Winthrop’s
Dylan Park (Easley, S.C.) is the Men’s Freshman of the Week honoree for events played Sept. 18-24, it was announced today.
Mainella won the Colonel Classic (par 70, 6,714 yards) with a 14-under 196 (66-65-65) -- breaking the program’s 54-hole scoring record. He won by nine strokes and led the Lancers to the team victory. Each of Mainella’s three rounds was either the low round or tied for the low round in the 76-player field. He also paced the field in par-3 scoring (-3), par-5 scoring (-5), birdies (13) and eagles (2), and tied for second on the par-4 holes (-6).
Park tied for fifth at the GMAC Invitational (par 70, 6,860 yards) with a 3-under 207 (68-68-71). He finished the final round 4-under on his last six holes to secure the Top 5 finish. Park tied for the third-most birdies in the field with 13, and was 6-under on the par-5 layouts.
