Big South Announces Women's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week - Jan. 14

Maeva Tahou (Locarno, TI, Switzerland) was selected the Women’s Track Athlete of the Week, while High Point’s
Ashlyn Giles (Reading, Pa.) earned Women’s Field Athlete of the Week honors. CSU’s
Katelyn Grate (Boiling Springs, S.C.) was named the Freshman of the Week.
Tahou claimed fifth in the 60m hurdles at the Clemson Invite with a personal-best time of 8.55 seconds. The performance leads the Big South this season, and ranks fourth all-time in Charleston Southern history. She also finished fifth in the triple jump with an effort of 12.21m, which is third all-time in the CSU record book.
Giles broke her own program record in the shot put with a throw of 15.43m to win the event at the UNCA Collegiate Opener. The effort ranks 27th nationally this season, and is sixth all-time in Big South history. Giles also competed in the weight throw for the Panthers and finished third with a distance of 15.32m.
Grate recorded a time of 8.72 in the 60m hurdles at the Clemson Invite to place 11th overall, and her time ranks 10th in program annals.
