Carlota Farrés Carreter (Vic, Spain) has been named the Big South Women's Tennis Player of the Week, while Presbyterian’s
Ladina Bruhin (Weinfelden, Switzerland) is the Freshman of the Week for matches played the opening weekend of the 2026 spring season, it was announced today.
Against No. 23-ranked Florida, Farrés secured the first singles victory of her collegiate career (6-4, 2-6, 10-5). Competing on the No. 3 court, she defeated the Gators’ Brooke Black in a hard-fought match, closing out a 10–5 third-set tiebreak.
Bruhin picked up a pair of singles wins on the No. 1 court against Furman and Austin Peay. On Saturday, she came back from down a set to defeat Elle Warren (2-6, 6-4, 10-6). Bruhin followed up her opening day victory with a win in straight-sets against Austin Peay’s Sophia Baranov (7-5, 7-5). She was also leading her respective doubles matches that went unfinished.
