Martin Iriondo (Orio, Basque Country, Spain) has been named the Big South Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week, while teammate
Elijah Pabon (DeForest, Wis.) is the Men’s Freshman of the Week honoree for meets ran the weekend of Oct. 15-18, it was announced today.
Iriondo won the Upstate Invite 8K Meet with a time of 23:47.9 -- less than five seconds ahead of the second-place finisher in a field that featured 344 competitors. He led the Bucs to victory in the 37-team race that included Duke and No. 23-ranked Furman.
Pabon crossed the finish line in fifth-place at the Upstate Invite with a time of 24:00.6 and was CSU’s third-fastest runner in the event. It was his first Top 10 finish and best 8K time of the season.
