Sam Terry (Thomasville, N.C.) is the Men’s Freshman of the Week honoree, it was announced today.
Carper tied for ninth at the Qubein Cup (par 70, 6,953 yards) with a 4-over par 214 (71-72-71). Playing as an individual at the prestigious Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, Carper was the highest finisher among the 19 Big South golfers competing. He tallied seven birdies and one eagle, and tied for eighth in the 75-player field in par-5 scoring (-3) for his second Top 10 finish of the fall season.
Terry tied for 21st at the Qubein Cup with an 11-over 221 (76-71-74). Playing as an individual, he was the third-highest scorer among the Big South participants, was even-par on the par-3 layouts and recorded an eagle on the 523-yard, par-5 No. 5 hole in the second round.
