Paula Menendez Alvarez (Gijon, Spain) has been named the Big South Women's Tennis Player of the Week, UNC Asheville's
Sofia Segui (Calvia, Spain) is the Freshman of the Week honoree for matches played Feb. 2-8, it was announced today.
Menendez Alvarez helped guide NJIT to a 5-2 win over Stony Brook. She teamed up with Feyza Aydin to pick up a 6-1 win on the No. 2 doubles court. In singles, Menendez Alvarez earned a 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 victory over Mia Palldino. Menendez Alvarez is now 4-1 in singles and 3-0 in doubles on the Spring season.
Segui teamed up with Angelina Joy Hug for a 6-4 win at No. 1 doubles against South Carolina State, while also winning 6-2, 6-0 at No. 5 singles.
