Big South Announces Women's Golfers of the Week - Feb. 19

Eugenie Varet (Maule, France) has been named the Big South Women’s Golfer of the Week, while High Point’s
Makayla Grubb (Stafford, Va.) is the Women’s Freshman of the Week honoree for events played Feb. 12-18, it was announced today.
Varet captured medalist honors at the Rivertowne Intercollegiate (par 72, 6,163 yards) with an even-par 216 (73-71-72) for her first collegiate victory. She won by four strokes, was the top scorer on the par-4 holes, and finished with eight total birdies.
Grubb tied for runner-up at the Rivertowne Intercollegiate with a 4-over 220 (75-72-73) for her best collegiate finish. The freshman sunk eight birdies, while making a hole-in-one in the first round on hole 14 with an 8-iron that she drove 138 yards. Her performance led the Panthers to the team title for the second consecutive year.
