Big South Announces Women's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week - Feb. 4
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – The Big South Conference announced today its Women's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week for competitions during the weekend of Jan. 29-Feb. 1.
High Point’s
Brianna Malone (Barrington, N.H.) was selected the Women’s Track Athlete of the Week, while teammate
Zamesha Myle (Kingstown, St. Vincent) earned Women’s Field Athlete of the Week honors. HPU’s
Kendall Hicks (Matthews, N.C.) was named the Freshman of the Week.
Malone competed at the Brant Tolsma Invitational and posted the conference’s top times of the season in the 800m and Mile run. She clocked a 2:08.71 in the 800m (sixth-place finish) and a 4:38.99 (seventh-place) in the Mile.
Myle won the triple jump at the Brant Tolsma Invitational with a winning distance of 12.95m. It was her second victory of the year in the event, and third top two finish in three starts this season.
Hicks ran a 7.71 in the 60m at the Brant Tolsma Invitational, in addition to a 25.38 performance in the 200m.
