High Point Wins 2026 Big South Women's Indoor Track & Field Championship

MILL SPRING, N.C. -- High Point extended its first day lead to win the 2026 Big South Women's Indoor Track & Field Championship on Saturday.  The Panthers finished the meet with 244 points to claim their fifth Big South Women's Indoor Track & Field title and fourth consecutive trophy.  Charleston Southern was second in the final standings with 167 points, followed by Radford in third with 81 points.

FINAL RESULTS

Charleston Southern's Maeva Tahou won three more golds on Saturday, as she was the champion in the 200m (24.15), 60m Hurdles (8.26) and the triple jump (13.03m).  High Point's Brianna Malone won two of the Panthers' five gold medals on Saturday, as she won her second-straight 800m race (2:11.50) and third consecutive mile run (4:47.83).  HPU's Alyssa Hendrix repeated as the 3,000m champion (9:44.49), teammate Ashlyn Giles won the shot put with a distance of 16.27m, and Lily Houston captured the pole vault with a clearance of 4.02m.

For the third consecutive week, Radford's Jeylah Hamrick established the overall Big South Conference record in the 400m, this time setting the Championship Meet record in the process with a 52.92 to win her second-straight crown.  Charleston Southern's 4x400m relay team repeated as event champions as the quartet finished first in a Championship Meet record time of 3:38.85.  CSU's Grenisha Thomas was the victor in the 60m dash with a time of 7.53.

Tahou earned the Most Outstanding Performance of the Meet for having the highest nationally-ranked mark or time that was established during the Championship, in addition to being awarded the Most Valuable Athlete for accumulating the most individual points among the competitors.  UNC Asheville's Aneta Kucerová was named the Women's Indoor Freshman of the Year, while High Point's Zamesha Myle and CSU's Maya Clark shared Newcomer of the Year honors.  Charleston Southern was honored as the Coaching Staff of the Year.  Malone was voted Scholar-Athlete of the Year by the league's Sports Information Directors.  Below are the final standings, and the full list of the top award winners.
