Big South Announces Men's Golfers of the Week - March 19

Thomas Lamar (Columbia, S.C.) has been named the Big South Men’s Golfer of the Week, while Longwood’s
Josh Cummins (Christiansburg, Va.) is the Men’s Freshman of the Week honoree for events played March 12-18, it was announced today.
Lamar tied for 12th out of 123 golfers at the Peoples Championship (par 71, 6,808 yards) with a 3-under 210 (67-72-71) for his best career finish -- in addition to leading the Eagles for the first time. His first round 67 was also a personal-best, and he tallied 12 birdies overall while finishing under par on the par-4 holes (-2) and par-5 layouts (-4).
Cummins was the medalist at the Larry and Wally Edgell Battle at Brunswick (par 72, 6,967 yards) with a 2-under 214 (73-71-70). Competing as an individual, Cummins ripped off eight of his nine birdies in each of his last two rounds and won the 95-player event by one stroke.
