Big South Announces Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week - March 26

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – The Big South Conference announced today its Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week for competitions during March 19-22.
 
Charleston Southern’s Aden Price (Columbia, S.C.) was named the Men’s Track Athlete of the Week and the Freshman of the Week, while Gardner-Webb’s Josh Powell (Spanish Fort, Ala.) and High Point’s Jason Olivera Jr. (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) shared the Men’s Field Athlete of the Week award.
 
Price won the 400m at the Charlotte 49er Classic with a time of 46.40 seconds -- the fifth-fastest in school history.  He was also runner-up in the 200m with a time of 20.86, and helped the Bucs’ 4x400m relay team finish third with a time of 3:13.39.
 
Powell finished first in the long jump at the Big South-SoCon Challenge with a personal-best distance of 7.70m, which is the top performance in the conference this season and ranks sixth all-time in the Big South record book.  He also finished third in the 100m dash with a PR time of 10.59.
 
Olivera Jr. took home the pole vault crown at the Bob Davidson Team Challenge with a clearance of 5.36m -- his personal-best in the outdoor season and good for fourth all-time in Big South history.
