Big South Announces Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week - March 31

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com– Furman attacker Lily Toole (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.) has been named the Big South Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, while Wofford defender Barrett Rowe (Richmond, Va.) is the Defensive Player of the Week for games played March 23-29, it was announced today. In addition, Longwood defender Peyton Daley (Great Falls, Va.) has been named the Freshman of the Week.
 
Toole totaled 12 points on eight goals and four assists as Furman opened Big South play with wins over Presbyterian and Radford. She scored one game-winner while adding four ground balls and three caused turnovers. The sophomore opened the week with three goals and two assists in the Paladins’ 15-7 conference-opening road win over Presbyterian, while also setting career highs with four ground balls and three caused turnovers. She followed with a season-best seven points in a 17-9 victory over Radford, tying a season high with five goals and adding two assists.
 
Rowe recorded nine caused turnovers and 13 ground balls in a 2-1 week for Wofford. She opened the week against No. 9 Clemson with a season-high four caused turnovers and five ground balls. The senior then began Big South play with a season-high seven ground balls and three caused turnovers in a 22-9 win over Longwood. She added two caused turnovers and one ground ball against Gardner-Webb, helping the Terriers hold the Runnin’ Bulldogs to just seven goals in an 18-7 victory.
 
Daley caused five turnovers and collected 10 ground balls in a 1-1 week for Longwood. The freshman opened Big South play by tying a career high with five ground balls against Wofford, adding one caused turnover. She followed by matching her career high with five ground balls against Winthrop, while also recording a career-high four caused turnovers to help lead a Lancer defense that forced 28 turnovers and allowed just seven goals in a 10-7 win over the Eagles.
