Big South Announces Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week - April 14

Sofia D’Angelo (Vienna, Va.) has been named the Big South Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, while Radford defender
Sam Flippo (Powhatan, Va.) is the Defensive Player of the Week for games played April 6-12, it was announced today. In addition, High Point midfielder
Anna Mullikin (Paris, Ky.) has been named the Freshman of the Week.
D’Angelo totaled eight goals and four assists to lead Mercer to wins over Furman and Winthrop. The senior opened the week with four goals and one assist in a 13-6 road victory over the Paladins. She followed by tying her single-game career high with three assists to go along with four goals, as her seven points established a new personal best in a 19-3 win over the Eagles. For the week, D’Angelo put 10 of her 18 shots on goal ( =55.6 percent) and added one ground ball in each contest.
Flippo caused 10 turnovers across two games and broke her own program single-game record with eight caused turnovers against Gardner-Webb. She also collected eight ground balls on the week. The junior opened with two caused turnovers and five ground balls against High Point, one shy of her career high. She followed with eight caused turnovers in a 10-6 win over the Runnin’ Bulldogs, tied for the third-most in a single game in Big South history, while anchoring a Radford defense that set a new program single-game program record with 20 caused turnovers.
Making her first two career starts, Mullikin recorded three goals, one assist and 12 draw controls in two High Point wins. She added one caused turnover and one ground ball. The freshman posted back-to-back games with a team-high six draw controls, one shy of her career best. She scored on her lone shot in a 19-2 win over Radford to open the week, then matched her career high with three points on two goals and one assist in a 17-12 victory at Furman.
