CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – The Big South Conference announced today its Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week for competitions during April 9-12.

USC Upstate’s Shriyaan Krishnaraj (Greer, S.C.) was named the Men’s Track Athlete of the Week, while High Point's Ricardo Montes de Oca (Venezuela) was the Men’s Field Athlete of the Week honoree.  UNC Asheville’s Demorris Jordan (Huntersville, N.C.) was selected the Men’s Freshman of the Week.

Krishnaraj finished fifth in the 400m hurdles at the Duke Invitational with a PR-time of 52:07 seconds, which is the top performance in the Big South this season, and third all-time in school history.

For the second consecutive week, Montes de Oca broke his program and Big South record in the pole vault with a record clearance of 5.70m to win the invite event at the Texas A&M 44 Farms Invitational -- the third-best mark in the nation this year.  His vault of 18-08.25 feet also surpassed the Venezuelan record and Meet record.

Jordan was the runner-up in the 200m at the Bulldog Invite with a PR-time of 21.27 seconds, the fifth-fastest effort in the conference this season.  He also finished third in the 100m dash (10.51) and was part of the Bulldogs’ 4x100m relay team that placed second with a time of 41.06.
