Big South Announces Seedings for 2026 Women's Golf Championship
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) –- High Point University has earned the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Big South Women’s Golf Championship, which will be hosted at the Ocean Creek Golf Course on Fripp Island, S.C., beginning Sunday. The Panthers receive the No. 1 seed based on its current Clippd national ranking of 62, the highest among the nine Big South women’s golf programs.
UNC Asheville is ranked No. 112 in the nation by Clippd and receives the No. 2 seed, ahead of three-seeded
Longwood’s ranking of 147.
Charleston Southern earns the No. 4 seed with its national ranking of 174.
Radford, ranked No. 178, will be the No. 5 seed in the championship, with
Winthrop (202) receiving the No. 6 seed.
Gardner-Webb receives the No. 7 seed (No. 226), ahead of
Presbyterian College (No. 8 – 237) and
USC Upstate (No. 9 – 255).
The Big South Women’s Golf Championship will be held at the Ocean Creek Golf Course as part of the Fripp Island Golf and Beach Resort for the third consecutive year, and will utilize a par 72, 6,032-yard layout to determine this year’s champion. The 2026 Big South Women’s Golf Championship begins Sunday, April 19 with a morning practice round followed by the first round of competition in the afternoon. A three-day, 54-hole stroke play event will be held April 19-21, followed by Match Play Semifinal & Final rounds on Wednesday, April 22 featuring the top four team finishers from stroke play. Clippd’s Scoreboard Live platform. The 2026 champion from Match Play will receive the Big South’s automatic berth to the NCAA Regionals. The Conference Championship schedule is as follows, and is subject to change due to weather:

Meanwhile, the Big South Conference will present its 2026 All-Conference Team, All-Freshman Team, All-Academic Team, All-Championship Team and the annual award winners on Tuesday, April 21 following the 54-hole stroke event at the post-Championship awards ceremony.

The team and runner-up trophies, plus the Coach of the Year award, will be presented at the conclusion of Wednesday’s Match Play competition.
