Big South Announces Men's Golfers of the Week - April 2

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – Gardner-Webb’s Jack Boyer (Greensboro, N.C.) has been named the Big South Men’s Golfer of the Week, while Presbyterian College’s James Rhodes (Columbia, S.C.) is the Men’s Freshman of the Week honoree for events played March 25-April 1, it was announced today.
 
Boyer tied for fifth at the Cutter Creek Intercollegiate (par 72, 7,280 yards) with a 4-under par 212 (67-72-73) for his top finish of the year and third Top 10 standing of the season.  He was second overall in the 92-player field with a 3.90 scoring average on the par-4 holes (-3), and also finished 1-under on the par-3 holes.  Boyer was one of two players to card two eagles, and he finished with 10 total birdies.
 
Rhodes led the Blue Hose at the Cutter Creek Intercollegiate with a 2-over par 218 (72-77-69) and tied for 14th for his best collegiate finish to date.  He was the second-highest finisher among the 25 Big South golfers competing, and tied for the fifth-most birdies in the event with 12 as well as 10th in par-4 scoring (even).
