Big South Announces Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week - April 21

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com– Mercer attacker Caroline Glus (Hershey, Pa.) has been named the Big South Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, while Gardner-Webb goalkeeper Emma Anderson (Alpharetta, Ga.) is the Defensive Player of the Week for games played April 13-19, it was announced today. In addition, High Point midfielder Anna Mullikin (Paris, Ky.) has been named the Freshman of the Week.
 
Glus tallied seven goals and one assist to lead Mercer to two wins as the Bears remained undefeated in Big South play. She placed 11 of her 18 shots on goal (.611) and added one caused turnover. The senior opened the week with four goals, all unassisted, and one assist in a 17-4 road win at Gardner-Webb, becoming the third player in program history to reach 200 career points. She followed with three goals and one caused turnover in a 24-0 victory at Radford.
 
Anderson made 25 saves and collected nine ground balls in a 1-1 week for Gardner-Webb. She posted a .490 save percentage on 67 shots faced while playing all 120 minutes in goal. The junior recorded 14 saves and three ground balls against league-leading Mercer. She then earned the win against Longwood with 11 saves on 25 shots faced (.550), adding six ground balls as the Runnin’ Bulldogs defeated the Lancers, 11-9.
 
Mullikin set career highs in goals (2), assists (3), caused turnovers (3) and draw controls (7) while leading High Point in points, assists, caused turnovers and draw controls in a one-goal game against East Carolina. Her seven draw controls helped the Panthers out-draw ECU, 19-10. Mullikin placed all three of her shots on goal.
 
Also nominated for Offensive Player of the Week: Lily Toole (Furman), Lily Trout (High Point), Tori Iannotti (Winthrop) and Carlie Cutinella (Wofford).
 
Also nominated for Defensive Player of the Week: Rachel Sbei (Furman), Sydney Martin (High Point), Mackenzie Ward (Mercer), Mikaylah Lindsay (Winthrop) and Olivia Graebner (Wofford).
 
Also nominated for Freshman of the Week: Emily Muir (Furman), Maddie Tredway (Gardner-Webb), Sophie Andrychowski (Mercer) and Sara Fenwick (Wofford).
