High Point Extends Lead After Second Round of 2026 Women's Golf Championship
FRIPP ISLAND, S.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) –
High Point extended its lead to 20 strokes after posting a 12-over 300 in Monday’s second round, bringing its 36-hole total to 593 (+17) at the 2026 Big South Women’s Golf Championship played at Ocean Creek Golf Course (par 72, 6,032 yards) on Fripp Island, S.C.
Radford carded a 304 (+21) to move into sole possession of second place with a two-round aggregate total of 613, while
Winthrop sits two strokes back in third at 615.
UNC Asheville improved by 12 strokes from its opening round to move into a tie for fourth place at 616, tied with
Longwood and just three shots behind the second-place Highlanders. The top four teams after 54 holes of stroke play will advance to Wednesday’s Match Play Semifinals and Championship.
Meanwhile, a pair of High Point freshmen lead the individual standings.
Eva Lye shot an even-par 72 and sits at 1-under 143, the only player under par through 36 holes. Teammate
Makayla Grubb is one stroke back at even-par 144. UNC Asheville’s
Caroline Patterson is in third at 2-over 146 after posting the low round of the tournament Monday with a 5-under 67, a 12-stroke improvement from her opening-round 79.
Charleston Southern’s Eugenie Varet and Winthrop’s
Constança Mendonça are tied for fourth at 3-over overall.
