Big South Announces Seedings for 2025 Men's Golf Championship
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) –- For the first time since 2015,
Winthrop University has earned the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Big South Men’s Golf Championship, which will be hosted at the Ocean Creek Golf Course on Fripp Island, S.C. The Eagles receive the No. 1 seed based on its current Clippd national ranking of 172, the highest among the eight Big South men’s golf programs.
Longwood is ranked No. 186 in the nation by Clippd and receives the No. 2 seed, ahead of three-seeded
Gardner-Webb’s ranking of 201.
High Point earns the No. 4 seed with its national ranking of 221.
Radford, ranked No. 226, will be the No. 5 seed in the championship, with
Charleston Southern (235) receiving the No. 6 seed.
USC Upstate receives the No. 7 seed (No. 239), with
Presbyterian at No. 8 (245).
The Big South Men’s Golf Championship will be held at the Ocean Creek Golf Course as part of the Fripp Island Golf & Beach Resort for the third consecutive year, and will utilize a par 71, 6,546-yard layout to determine this year’s champion. The 2026 Big South Men’s Golf Championship begins Sunday, April 26 with a morning practice round followed by the first round of competition in the afternoon. A three-day, 54-hole stroke play event will be held April 26-28, followed by Match Play Semifinal & Final rounds on Wednesday, April 29 featuring the top four team finishers from stroke play. Championship action can be followed online via
Clippd’s Scoreboard Live platform. The 2026 champion from Match Play will receive the Big South’s automatic berth to the NCAA Regionals. The Conference Championship schedule is as follows, and is subject to change due to weather:

Meanwhile, the Big South Conference will present its 2026 All-Conference Team, All-Freshman Team, All-Academic Team, All-Championship Team and the annual award winners on Tuesday, April 28 following the 54-hole stroke event at the post-Championship awards ceremony. The team and runner-up trophies, along with Coach of the Year, will be presented at the conclusion of Wednesday’s Match Play competition.
