Big South Announces Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week - April 23
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – The Big South Conference announced today its Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week for competitions during April 16-19.
Charleston Southern’s
Aden Price (Columbia, S.C.) and High Point’s
Camerin Williams (Wilmington, Del.) shared the Men’s Track Athlete of the Week award, while teammate
Ricardo Montes de Oca (Venezuela) was the Men’s Field Athlete of the Week honoree. CSU’s
Laden Beckwith (Knightdale, N.C.) was selected the Men’s Freshman of the Week.
Price won the 400m at the Georgia Tech Invitational with a winning time of 46.16, surpassing his PR and moving into ninth all-time in Big South history. His mark leads the conference this season, and is third-best in CSU annals. Price also helped the Bucs’ 4x400m win the relay event in 3:08.68.
Williams raced in his first meet of the outdoor season and recorded a 1:47.66 time in the 800m at the Wake Forest Invitational -- the third time in his career under 1:48.00 (1:47.37 is his own program and Big South record which was set at the 2025 Big South Championship).
Montes de Oca won the pole vault at the North Carolina A&T Aggie Invitational with a clearance of 5.52m. It was his third consecutive pole vault title of the outdoor season.
Beckwith placed fifth in the 200m at the Georgia Tech Invitational with a time of 20.90, which ranks sixth all-time in school history, and is the second-fastest 200m in the Big South this season.
