Big South Announces Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week - April 30
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – The Big South Conference announced today its Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week for competitions during April 23-26.
Charleston Southern’s
Aden Price (Columbia, S.C.) was selected both the Men’s Track Athlete of the Week and Freshman of the Week, with High Point’s
Ricardo Montes de Oca (Venezuela) named the Men’s Field Athlete of the Week honoree.
Price won the 400m at the Charlotte Invitational with a school-record time of 45.67, bettering the program mark that stood for 18 years. It was his third 400m victory this spring, and his effort ranks fourth-best in Big South history. Price was also part of the Bucs’ 4x400m relay team that finished second in 3:08.88.
Montes de Oca won the pole vault at the Charlotte Invitational with a clearance of 5.52m. It was his fourth consecutive pole vault title of the outdoor season.
