CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – The Big South Conference announced today its Wome's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week for competitions during April 23-26.

Charleston Southern’s 4x400m Relay team of Maya Clark, Grenisha Thomas, Maeva Tahou and Caroline Aslerin was selected the Women’s Track Athlete of the Week, while Tahou and High Point’s Emily Romano shared Women’s Field Athlete of the Week accolades.

Clark, Thomas, Tahou and Aslerin broke the school’s 4x400m relay record at the Charlotte Invitational with a winning time of 3:34.38 -- the second-fastest 4x400m in Big South history and just 0.29 seconds off the all-time mark.

Tahou earned two additional victories at the Charlotte Invitational.  She won the 100m hurdles in a PR time of 13.24 -- another school record and third-fastest in the conference record book.  She also captured the long jump with a school-record leap of 6.20m, becoming the first-ever Buccaneer to eclipse six meters, and moving into fourth-place all-time in the event in league annals.

Romano won the pole vault at the Charlotte Invitational with a clearance of 4.11m.  It marked her second pole vault victory of the spring, and her effort tied as the top performance in the conference this season.
