Big South Announces Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week - April 7

Sam Flippo (Powhatan, Va.) is the Defensive Player of the Week for games played March 30-April 5, it was announced today. In addition, Furman attacker
Avery Adeli (Moorestown, N.J.) has been named the Freshman of the Week.
Goettelmann recorded 12 points on five goals and seven assists in a 2-0 week for High Point. She added one ground ball and placed seven of her nine shots on goal (.778). The junior turned in a career performance against Longwood with personal bests of four goals, four assists and eight points, contributing to HPU’s second-most goals (25), points (41) and assists (16) in a single game since 2017. She followed with one goal and three assists in a 16-10 win over Wofford, marking her fourth multi-assist game of the season.
Flippo totaled 12 caused turnovers and nine ground balls in two games for Radford, including setting a program single-game record for caused turnovers against Winthrop. The junior opened the week with a career-high seven caused turnovers against the Eagles, the most in program history, while also tying a career high with six ground balls. She followed with five caused turnovers and three ground balls in a 13-10 win at Presbyterian, helping the Highlanders post a perfect 100.0 percent clear percentage against the Blue Hose.
Adeli registered four goals, two assists and three ground balls as Furman split a pair of Big South contests. The freshman opened the week with one goal and one ground ball against Wofford. She followed with a career-high three goals and two assists for a personal-best five points against Longwood, as the Paladins rallied in the fourth quarter for a 13-11 victory. Adeli also tied her career high with two ground balls in the win.
