Big South Announces Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week - April 8

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – The Big South Conference announced today its Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week for competitions during April 2-5.
 
High Point’s AJ Miller (Pittsburgh, Pa.) was named the Men’s Track Athlete of the Week, while teammate Ricardo Montes de Oca (Venezuela) was the Men’s Field Athlete of the Week honoree.  CSU’s Aden Price (Columbia, S.C.) was selected the Men’s Freshman of the Week.
 
Miller won the 800m at the VertKlasse Meeting with a Meet- and Vert Stadium-record time of 1:48.67, which is the fastest in the Big South this season and fifth-best all-time in league history.
 
Montes de Oca broke his program and conference record in the pole vault with a record clearance of 5.51m at the VertKlasse Meeting, becoming the first Big South pole vaulter to surpass 5.50 meters.
 
Price ran a PR-time of 46.18 in the 400m at the Florida Relays to move into ninth in Big South history in the event, as well as No. 3 all-time in CSU annals.  He also clocked a time of 21.11 seconds in the 200m.
