Big South Announces Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week - April 8
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – The Big South Conference announced today its Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week for competitions during April 2-5.
Charleston Southern’s
Maeva Tahou (Locarno, TI, Switzerland) was selected the Women’s Track Athlete of the Week, while High Point’s
Zamesha Myle (Kingstown, St. Vincent) earned Women’s Field Athlete of the Week accolades. USC Upstate’s
Alexis Plaster (Midlothian, Va.) was honored as the Women’s Freshman of the Week.
Tahou finished third in the triple jump at the Florida Relays with a school-record distance of 13.11m, which is third-best in Big South history. In the 100m hurdles, Tahou claimed sixth with a PR time of 13.35, which ranks fifth-fastest all-time in league annals. She was also part of the Bucs’ 4x100m relay team that finished in 45.17 seconds for the sixth-best effort in the conference record book, as well as third-fastest in program history.
Myle won the triple jump at the VertKlasse Meeting with a school-record effort of 13.10m, good for fourth all-time in Big South history. She also landed a personal-best distance of 6.07m in the long jump for third-place in that event, and was part of the Panthers’ 4x100m relay squad that finished second with a program-record time of 44.97.
Plaster finished third in the 5,000m run at the Electric City Invitational with a PR time of 18:00.43, which ranks eighth all-time in school history.
