HIGH POINT, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – Five-time defending champion High Point remains in first-place of the 2026 Big South Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Championships with 129 team points following the second day of competition at Vert Stadium on the campus of High Point University.  Charleston Southern holds second-place with 75 points through eight scored events, with Gardner-Webb in third-place with 33 points.

Three of the five individual champions crowned on Tuesday set Championship Meet records in their respective victories.  Charleston Southern’s Maeva Tahou won her second gold medal of the Championship, which was her second consecutive title in the triple jump with a Meet-record distance of 13.34m -- which also surpassed the overall Big South record by 0:01m.  CSU’s Chloe Greene became just the second-ever three-time heptathlon champion in conference history, as her point total of 5,603 set both a Meet record and the overall Big South record.  In the shot put, High Point’s Ashlyn Giles was triumphant with a Meet-record throw of 16.52m.

For the seventh consecutive Championship, High Point swept the podium in the pole vault.  Emily Romano won with a clearance of 4.18m, followed by Lily Houston in second (4.13m) and Kaitlin Richards and Angie Davis tying for third at 3.68m.  UNC Asheville’s Aneta Kucerová concluded the women’s events with a victory in the 3,000m Steeplechase (10:44.41), becoming the first back-to-back Steeple champion since 2018-19.

Meanwhile, the following individuals posted the top qualifying times in preliminary events on Tuesday ahead of tomorrow’s finals: CSU’s Tahou (100mH – 13.33), Radford’s Jeylah Hamrick (400m – 54.08), High Point’s Zamesha Myle (100m – 11.58), and Charleston Southern’s Freya Buglass (800m – 2:11.88).
