The 2026 Big South Baseball Championship concludes Sunday, May 24, with the finals at John Henry Moss Stadium on the campus of Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, N.C. Defending champion and No. 3 seed
USC Upstate will face No. 6
Longwood at 2:00pm on ESPN+ for a chance to clinch the championship trophy and the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Should the Lancers defeat the Spartans, a "Winner-Take-All" game will be played approximately 45-50 minutes following the conclusion of the opening game.
USC Upstate is making its fourth consecutive appearance in the Big South championship final -- just the third team to achieve this feat in Tournament history. The Spartans are seeking their second consecutive Big South baseball title, as well as becoming the first back-to-back champion since Campbell in 2022 and 2023. The last No. 3 seed to officially win the Championship was Coastal Carolina in 2004. The No. 3 seed has played in the final 10 times previously (1992, 1997, 2004, 2007, 2012, 2014, 2017, 2019, 2024 and 2025), with 2004 has its lone victory (the 2014 championship won by the No. 3 seed was later vacated).
Longwood is in the conference championship final for the first time since becoming Big South members in 2013. The Lancers are looking to become the first No. 6 seed to win the Big South crown since 2006 (UNC Asheville). The No. 6 seed is 2-2 all-time in the title contest, having won in 1993 and 2006, and finishing as the runner-up in 1991 and 2003. This will be the first-ever No. 3 vs. No. 6 meeting for the Championship trophy.
