LEXINGTON, Ky. – The NCAA Track & Field East Regionals came to a close on Saturday evening with a memorable conclusion for the Buccaneers. Charleston Southern's Maeva Tahou placed inside the top 12 in the triple jump and will be advancing to compete in that in the National Championships in June as well as the long jump.

Tahou recorded a better jump on each of her attempts during her series of the triple jump. She opened with a 12.78m and followed it with a 12.92m and sat well outside the top 12 that would be advancing to Oregon after those first two attempts. On her third and final chance, she went 13.22 to have a massive move up the leaderboard and finish in 11th.

Tahou will be one of four student-athletes nationally competing in both the long jump and triple jump at the National Championship. She joins Katharina Graman (Illinois), Shantae Foreman (Clemson) and Georgina Scoot (Princeton) in this elite group of jumpers. Additionally, she will be the first in program history and the second in Big South history to compete in the triple jump at the National Championship. Lastly, she will become the second person in league history to advance to the National Championship in multiple individual events.

Also, during the day Tahou competed in the national quarterfinals of the 100m hurdles. She claimed 21st overall in the round with a time of 13.29 to end her season in the event.
