HIGH POINT, N.C. — High Point University men's golfer
Tully Super qualified for the 126th U.S. Amateur Championship on Monday afternoon at the Dacotah Ridge Golf Club in Morton, Minn. This marks Super's first time advancing to an USGA Championship in his career.
The Minnesotan shot 3-under-par 69 for a third-place finish at the local final qualifying event as he was one of five golfers to earn a place at the 2026 U.S. Amateur that will be played on the links of the prestigious Merion Golf Club on August 10-16 in Ardmore, Pa.
"To be able to qualify for my first USGA event is truly awesome," Super said. "It has always been a goal I've wanted to achieve, so I'm thrilled it happened. I'm looking forward to representing HPU throughout the week in Philadelphia."
The rising junior earned his first collegiate medalist honors (-7) at the Red Flash Invitational during the fall, helping the Panthers win their first team tournament under HPU Head Coach Logan Davis.
