BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. - After posting one of the most outstanding seasons in Gardner-Webb track & field history, senior
Quentin Peterson has been named a College Sports Communicators Third Team Academic All-American selection, the organization announced on Tuesday.
Peterson competed at both the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor National Championships this year, becoming just the second Runnin' Bulldogs thrower to ever compete in both in the same year. He received Second Team All-American honors in shot put at each to put a bow on one of the great Gardner-Webb athletic careers, in addition to two of the highest national finishes in program history. Peterson did all this on top of taking home the Men's Most Outstanding Performance Award and both the men's shot put and men's weight throw championships at the Big South Outdoor Championships each for the second consecutive year this spring, and all while posting a 3.93 GPA in the classroom.
